The Color Run

I woke up at 4:40 a.m.  I quickly got ready, in the dark, and left home by 5:00 a.m.  I then drove, for 2.5 hours to Kansas City.  I got there in time to see a lot of people pull in and head to the starting line.  I saw a lot of people start their run.  And finish their run.  I waited for my sister and the girls she works with to get there.  And when they did, we quickly took a few photos while rushing across some parking lots and fields to get to the starting line.

At the starting line, there were little to no people waiting.  As you can see in the next photo.  We snapped a picture of us with some unicorn and took off on our race.

The first color station to go through was yellow.  Then orange, pink, and blue.

We finished very colorful, and definitely not last.  When we ran, we ran to the left.  But we mostly walked, but quickly.

At the end, we gathered near a stage, released our color packets along with the crowd, and tried to remember to close our mouths as the color dust flew through the air.

It was fun, and messy, and worked up our appetites for IHOP.  Then we parted ways, and I drove 2.5 hours back home.  My clothes and shoes washed out perfectly, well besides my tank top.

It was great seeing my sister at the happiest 5K on the planet!
