Some things I have learned from you:
To always leave the last piece of cake, or brownie, or whatever it is you really wish you had another piece of, for your loved ones.
To appreciate family and the time you get to spend with them.
To not
Because of all the home videos we have that are interrupted with a view of an airplane in the sky that continues to fly slowly across the blue screen while sounds of us as children are heard in the background, and from all the air shows I joined with you, I have developed my own love for airplanes.
To have a good laugh.
To appreciate people-watching, wondering about the relationships between people and their life stories.
To be friendly...to everyone you meet. You never know when someone may be dealing with personal struggles or heartaches. And to wave at cows.
Thank you for always bringing home big boxes from the lumber yard so we could build forts. Thank you for swinging us around in the trash can. Thank you for bringing home the one-ton flat bed truck from work for us to hold onto while you raised the bed, and teaching us to trust you by having us close our eyes and fall back into your arms. Thank you for playing sports with us in the yard. Thanks for working your fingers to the bones (what do you get?!) and always singing your fun songs.
Your children have always felt loved, safe, and protected because of the love in our daddy's hands!
Happy Father's Day to you. You are so very loved!
