A Glorious Life

Whoever goes hunting for what is right and kind finds life itself -- glorious life!  - Proverbs 21:21

My prayer lately has been for God to open my eyes to what he has planned for me in my life.  I have so much inspiration inside when I think of my possibilities, and I know it is because God has something special brewing for me.  I am praying that my eyes are opened to what He has planned for me.

I have so many dreams.  I believe God gives me these dreams because they are a vision of what He wants me to work towards.  I don't want to share all of these dreams yet, but believe me when I say that my mental notebook (and physical ones, too) of ideas, plans, goals, wishes, and future plans is continually filling up!

We cannot just sit back and wait for God to show us the way.  We cannot hope that someday we will just know what the right thing is to do.  Instead, we must go along our way, living, and God will lead us there before we even realize it.

Go hunting for what is right and kind.  You will find life, and it will be a glorious one.

Weekend Fun

Friday night, Kylie had a ball game.  She played first base and hit the ball on the first pitch each time she was up to bat.  She even got this year's first double when her ball went to the grass in center field.  The team lost, but the girls did a good job.  Their first two games ended in a tie, so they are 0-1 (with 2 tied games).

Saturday, Keane and I went to a new house of some friends of ours.  They have an in ground swimming pool that lights up at night, a beautiful view of a lake from the front of the house, and peaceful country in every direction.  They also have a bar on the patio and surround sound music outdoors.

On Sunday, we met up with Kaden and Kylie to work on Kaden's batting.  I can honestly say that I got my exercise (and some sun) chasing after baseballs in the outfield.  The kids had gone to the Cardinals' game on Saturday and Kaden got Keane's glove (and his own) signed by Jack Clark.  Kylie got a softball signed by pitcher, Joe Kelly.

Then Keane and I went to Welschmeyer's lake to meet up with a few friends, but as soon as we got there, so did a big storm.  We moved the gathering to Becker's shed.  Here are a couple of photos that say, "Yes, we are a little redneck."

Sister is 28

My Dear Sister,

Happy Birthday.  You are the one person that deserves the happiest of all birthdays.

We go back, like way back.  We were together when we talked Mom and Dad into letting us have rabbits as pets.  We were together through getting braces and every. single. month. having to go to the dentist.  We picked four-leaf clovers together, and whispered across the hall at night until Dad yelled for us to be quiet and go to sleep.  I knew when you snuck out to meet a guy who was older than you, and I read the love letters you passed back and forth.  I sat next to you while you chatted on Messenger, and I slept with you in your bed a lot of nights.  I believe I even helped you into bed the first time you came home not-so-sober.

I was a little sad to see you graduate high school and so proud to see you graduate college.  Your wedding day is one of my happiest memories, and your baby boy is one of my favorite people in the whole wide world.  You are always there to answer my calls when I need a comforting voice to talk to you.

I love you, my sister, and I truly mean it when I say that you deserve the happiest birthday on the entire face of the planet.

Breakfast

Kylie was helping me prepare breakfast and was in charge of washing the strawberries.  She decided a sink full of water would do the trick, and she spent more time playing in the sink than she did preparing breakfast.  But as I heard her telling the strawberries that she will put them in the bowl with their friends, it took me back to my child-like heart.  I was a little girl who imagined every inanimate object to have feelings, and friends.

Breakfast is our weekend's special meal.  We usually have biscuits and gravy, eggs, and either bacon or sausage.  Sometimes we switch it up and have pancakes, breakfast burritos, or "stuff" which consists of eggs, hash browns, veggies, and sausage all cooked together.

Kylie found this hat at Casey's and wanted a picture wearing it.
She also decided she wanted Pepsi because I regretfully told her a saying that included,
"Girls are sexy, made out of Pepsi."

Dog Spa Day

My dog got a hair cut!  His fur gets so long and shaggy by summer, and it's full of thorns, dirt, and whatever else he gets into living in the country.

I have always loved taking him to get his hair cut.  He has a "spa" day, I consider it.  He, however, probably does not consider it very spa-ish, but he gets his nails clipped, hair cut, and to respect his privacy, I won't mention what else they do for him there.

This time, for the first time in his 11 years, I was a little sad to see him all shaved.  Why?  Because he looks his age, which I don't like being as old as it is.  I know he feels wonderful though, and he is still the cutest cocker spaniel ever.
