8 Weeks (First Ultrasound)

(Written November 11)

This week's photo will be a picture of you, instead of me!  Me and your daddy got to see you for the very first time, and it was amazing!  First the ultrasound tech showed me my bladder that was already filled back up right after I emptied it, both my ovaries, and then, finally, you!  I thought you were going to look like a little bean, but you looked just like a little baby in there!  We could see your heart beating right away, and then we got to listen to it!  It was beating 168 beats per minute.  You measured 8 weeks, but we are still going off my last menstrual cycle which puts me at 7 weeks, 3 days (yesterday).  Your due date is June 26, 2015 (two days before our first anniversary)!.

We made an appointment for February 9 for our next ultrasound where we get to find out if you are our little son or our little daughter!

We are so excited.  You already have such a warm, loving family, and you will be so loved when you get here.  I am excited to tell everyone about you, especially your brother and sister, grandparents, and aunts and uncles!

You go everywhere with me.  I slammed my finger in Kylie's closet door last night and instantly went to my hands and knees and I just thought about you, hanging out upside-down and feeling my tension, so I quickly tried to relax and stand up, ha.  I'm sure you didn't mind, but after seeing you inside me all snuggly, I was reminding I need to take extra care of my body for you.

Cravings: My appetite is starting to come back, but usually different things than usual sound good to me.  I ordered chicken tenders at Longhorn the other day, and I never order chicken tenders. They were amazing.

Aversions: Too much of anything.

Symptoms: Sore boobs (I'm getting used to), full & bloated, motion sickness (much less), sleeplessness (still waking up wide awake quite often throughout the night).

Mood: I have had no mood swings whatsoever.  I've actually been the most stable in moods than ever lately, and in a very happy one at that.

I love you, baby.

Love, Mommy
