Farrah's Seven Month Update

Seven months old and as beautiful, fun, and smart as ever!  What a month!

You picked these flowers out.  I held two bouquets I liked the best out in front of you at Walmart, and you looked from one to the next a couple times, and reached out to grab these.  They were my favorite too!

You are full of flappy arms and kicking feet when you are excited, which is usually all the time.  You love to grab your little lamb lovie's ears or the corners of blankets and pull them up to your face.  You really enjoy loud music or singing, it seems to calm you.  You are full of laughter.  We laugh a lot and so do you.  I think that's a normal part of life to you.

You love heights and movement.  You love playing airplane and roller coaster.  You started to crawl!!  You had been working on it all month.  You would go from sitting to on your hands with your feet still tucked under you.  Then you would go backwards back into the sitting position.  You started to go forward on the 01/04/16 and on the 01/07/16, but then finally, two days before you turned seven months old, on 01/12/16 you crawled!  You didn't go far, but you went forward and didn't stop.  I enjoy watching you learn these things all on your own.  It's pure amazement to me.

You are still nursing like a champ.  You nurse about five times a day, the longest times being the first and last.  They usually last about 15 minutes total.  The other times you nurse for about 3-5 minutes on each side.  We are also feeding you solids, like toast and bananas and veggies and fruit and yogurt.  You have eaten some meat and some desserts, as well.

Throughout these colder nights, you sleep in flannel jammies, and you have been sleeping so well through the night, beginning on the night you turned 6 months old.  There was about a week you would wake up at 4:00-4:30 a.m. every morning after the holidays, but that has finally subsided.  You wake up around 5:30-6:00 a.m. to nurse, and on days we stay at home, you go back to sleep until 8:00-8:30 a.m.  You are wearing size 6-9 month clothes and size 2 diapers (size 3 at night).

You love all animals: the indoor cat, the outside dogs, the fish at the pet store, the deer on the walls...  You also enjoy watching cars drive by.

We started a nighttime routine consising of reading a book or two, dancing to a song with your start nightlight on, and then Mommy singing a song to you and rocking/nursing you, before we say a prayer, give kisses, and you lay down in your crib.  You really are so perfect.  Sometimes you hum along with me, and it sounds way off-tune, but it's the cutest thing.

When I turn the music on in the kitchen, you smile so big when I start dancing, and you sort of seem like you're dancing, too, with a little bitty bounce.  In January, you started to clasp your hands together when we show you how to clap.  Your hands are always folded and you wring your hands together, so the open-hand clap hasn't happened, yet, but your clap is good enough!

You also are sitting up in your crib all the time.  It kind of makes me sad seeing you sitting up alone in your crib when you are semi-awake in the evening.  Not only are you sitting, but you are also pulling up on things!  Like my leg, your crib, and the coffee table.

I think you may be left-handed!  When you have something in your left hand, you do this wrist flick over and over.
I really enjoyed your seventh month.  You learned a lot and you are always loving and attentive, funny and cute, and my very favorite.  I love you with everything that I am.

(Telling Santa you wanted a night light and toys for Christmas.  He didn't bother you at all!)

(Be still my heart - these are the cutest little things ever!  I ordered you your first shoes ever, Tiny Toms.  They are shimmery even if you can't really tell in the photo.  They are a little big still, but I am in love with them...and with you, of course!)
