Oh, Christmas Tree

I love getting our Christmas tree up.  I knew I had to wait until after Thanksgiving and that's mainly due to Keane being anti-Christmas-before-Thanksgiving, which I am appreciative for so that Thanksgiving receives it's own time and place in our home.

Thankfully, we had the kids the weekend after Thanksgiving, making it the perfect time to get our Christmas tree.  We went to the same Christmas tree farm we did last year, and made a quick go of it, because Keane was hoping to go hunting that same evening, and we didn't get around to leaving the house until later than originally planned.  We got there and pointed out a couple tree, and while the kids were racing to their next favorite, Keane and I decided on one, and the kids seemed to love it as well.

We entered a Christmas-y shed full of Christmas tunes, scents, cookies, and cider, where I paid for the tree, and we left feeling full of Christmas spirit.

Kylie's friend, Caitlyn, was still with us from spending the night for Kylie's birthday, and she was very excited to help decorate our tree, which turned into her spending a second night with Kylie.  The girls and I listened to Christmas songs on Pandora and put the lights, bulbs, and snowflakes on the tree.  I told Kaden I would save some ornaments for him to put on, which pleased him well, and later that evening he put on the ornaments I have bought the last couple of years and all of the yearly ornaments Keane's parents have bought him (and still do) each year.  Then, Kylie put the star on the tree to complete it.

My mom made a Christmas advent calendar for us a couple years ago and the kids were so excited to begin collecting their gifts.  This year they get a few puzzle pieces each day and before long, I'll have photos of their completed puzzles!  Keane and I have a trivia question each day, which so far we are 0-0 with our answers.

The stockings are hung and the tree is lit.  Presents are being purchased and the countdown is in full swing.  I really do love Christmas.
