Keane's Big Day

Cookies made by my momma!

Saturday was Keane's birthday!  I'm not sure that there is anything else Keane would rather do on his 36th birthday than to attend Kylie's basketball game and take Kaden youth hunting.  Kaden must have been excited too, because on his school agenda on Saturday's date, he has written, "Hunting Day :) Hunting Day :)."

It was determined that neither Kaden nor Kylie were able to take a non-blurry photo of the two of us this weekend, on two different occasions, so this one will have to suffice.

This deserves a post of its own, but Kaden got Keane a nice present on Saturday morning!  Kaden shot a 15-point buck on opening day of youth season, at age 9!  Stay tuned for photos and more details on this.

Keane had received a birthday present early this year as you can see here, which was something he had been wanting for a really long time, and something that he was really needing.  Plus, he got to use it on his birthday to spot Kaden's big buck!

We decided to give Keane his birthday presents on Friday night because we were all anxious for him to see his new gifts.  One of his gifts (from Kylie) was a new coffee pot.  I dropped and broke the cup of his old one, which was a smaller one, and I felt the need to replace it for him.  He will be the only one using it as I don't drink coffee.  Keane doesn't drink coffee all year, but he does mostly in the winter months, in his gorgeous deer coffee mug I got him for Christmas a couple years ago.

We also got him The Original Grill Pad (from Kaden).  Having a brand new deck and doing a lot of grilling, he has been worried about ashes falling onto the wood.  Worry no more, babe!

He also got some no-show black socks.  Having good socks clean and available for him every morning should be much easier now!  And some cute AE underwear.  And a couple new shirts.  I am such a sucker for birthdays.

At the birthday boy's request, for supper we had breaded deer steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, and green beans.  The deer, corn, and green beans are all harvested by us.  For dessert, he wished for cherry cheesecake (the box kind)!

Since Kaden had no need to go youth hunting after Saturday morning, Keane decided to take advantage and go bow hunting in the evening.  This gave us time to decorate with some birthday decorations and make Keane's birthday supper.  What fine little helpers Kaden and Kylie now are in the kitchen.

I forgot to buy candles so we had to make do with what we had..."27" plus the 7 candles I could find, and 2 tea light candles = 36.

Keane, I hope your birthday was fabulous.  Your birthday is a day to celebrate you, and although I really hope every day is good for you, your birthday should be extra fab.  You light up the world just by being in it.  You are always bringing laughter and fun to ordinary situations, and you deserve so much happiness in life.  You deserve to be worry-free, full with healthy and hearty meals, a nice home to come home to with a happy family, you deserve a monster buck (no really, you do), and a life full of good memories, smiles, and happiness.  I hope you know how much love your family has for you.

Happy birthday, babe.  I love you.
