Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween from our little cheerleader and baseball player!

Today is Halloween, and maybe due to the fact that my mom never liked to celebrate Halloween, I can't say that I'm overly thrilled for the holiday.  I don't like scary movies, and the handful of "haunted" houses I've attended in the past years have been enough to satisfy my Halloween curiosity.  We aren't attending any Halloween parties or bar costume nights this year, and I have to say I'm glad.

I did go out on a limb and got some chocolate candy for the kids (and adults, let's be honest) and in the very rare chance that we will get a trick-or-treater.  Actually, as we were driving to work one day this week, Keane said to me, "Maybe you should get a little Halloween candy, just in case."  So really it was his idea.

Luckily, although we won't have the kids tonight, we got to dress them in their costumes for school.  Sleepy Kylie came to me before her eyes were even opened this morning and said, "Before you fix my hair, you might want to put my costume on."  Little One woke up enough to put her own costume on, and I added some green eye shadow, pink blush, lipstick, and hair glitter.  Kaden wanted to be Frankenstein (for the second year in a row) with no luck finding a mask/costume in stores nearby.  He settled for wearing his baseball uniform, which goes nicely with Kylie's cheerleading uniform.  Go Green!

We warned the kids to try to control their sugar highs today.
But most of all, I hope they have loads of fun.

McCoy was a scuba diver, which he could say when you asked him to say "school bus driver."  I had to share my sister's photos, because he's just so darn cute.  I wish I had an audio clip of him saying very softly, "triiiiiiick-o-treeeat."
