Summer Fun - Farrah Turns Three

Farrah Oakley turned THREE this summer.  She was so extremely excited for her birthday to arrive.  She said when she turned three, she was going to be a big girl like Kylie!

Since it had only been one month exactly since we had Augusta, a big birthday party was not in the plans.  I still had my usual itch to decorate and made a summer picnic and watermelon theme!  Farrah wanted cupcakes so instead of a watermelon-looking cake, we made cupcakes!  I noticed after the party that I messed up on one of my letterboard signs that read, "It's Farrah Birthday." That explains exactly the rush and busyness of life, ha!

My mom and brother joined us for the party and it turned out perfectly.  We ate summer foods like pinwheels, watermelon, five-layer dip, chicken tenders, and slushies.

From Nana and Papa McCoy, Farrah got the Peppa Pig grocery store.  Kollin and Brooke got her the Peppa Pig car.  She loved those gifts so much.  Aunt Kimberly and her family got her a Lite Brite and two pairs of adorable cupcake pajamas.  We got her magnetic building blocks and a playhouse!!  Grandma and Papa Brooks got her the Barbie kitchen she had been asking for.

It was a really great birthday for such a special girl.  She was happy that she didn't cry at her party this year.

She says often, "I love you, Mommy.  You're the best mommy in the whole world ever!"  Or she will tell Augusta she is the best baby sister in the whole world ever!

She plays babies, kitchen, Peppa Pig, or Barbies.  She also loves to draw and paint.  She is always so ready and willing to help.  She walked out to the deck and asked, "Dad, what do you need help with?" while he was grilling.  Each time we head to the house from the vehicle, she always asks, "What do you need me to carry?"

She is so full of excitement.  She sort of flaps her arms and hands and is always quick to say "I'm sorry" if she makes a mess.  She always cleans up after herself and closes doors behind her.  I sure love that and hope that remains.  She changes outfits several times a day and loves her daily and nightly routines.  She sleeps in her bed most of the time, but usually comes in our bed in the early morning hours.

This summer we experienced our first library trip and we did a scavenger hunt around the yard.  We have been swimming at Cousin Deann's and watched quite a few baseball and softball games.  She loves to go with and help Daddy on the farm, and she's done a whole lot of playing.  She loves to play with Kylie, get chased by Kaden, and get tickled by Daddy.

Although she talks constantly, she's such a joy to have around.  I'll always appreciate this extended summer I got to spend at home with all the kids!
