Spring is in the air. The first official day of spring was a week ago today, but since then we've had a snow storm and cold weather. Today, the sun is out, the high is expected to be 51, and we should get weather around 60 degrees on Saturday.
Just in time for a family Easter egg hunt and dinner. Kimberly and McCoy will be joining us, as well as Kaden and Kylie. Kimberly coming home was on a contingency basis. She wasn't going to come home unless McCoy could have an outside Easter egg hunt. So one is in the making. We will have everyone there besides Lonnie, who is preparing for a new job next week and will be staying home with Brandt and Roxy.
I've been wanting to read more Bible stories to Kaden and Kylie. I want to do my job as a parent to instill the most important beliefs, ideas, and love in their hearts, and those are the stories of Jesus. I bought a book of Bible stories last Christmas and I got it out last night at bedtime to read the Easter story to the kids. It was about two pages long, the story of Jesus being brought back to life after dying on the cross. The kids instantly had questions, and I loved that. They wanted to know how he came back to life, and I explained that with God, all things are possible. That God sent us his son to die on the cross for our sins, and to live again so that we can serve a living, and loving, Christ.
When I closed the book and told them that another story will have to wait for another day, Kaden asked me to finish the Easter story, because he wanted to hear about the Easter Bunny.
