Farrah at 18 Months

I want to remember Farrah the way she is right now.  So exhausting, yet so full of love.  She says Farrah cutely.  It sounds like far-uh.  She has also been saying mum for mom.  She calls Keane's nipples apple (pronounced opp-ul), and she has been calling her babies babydoll (pronounced beebeedoll).

She loves to rub Lambie on the bottom of her feet as she falls asleep, and she will push him down to her feet when she's laying in her crib.  She still requests a pacifier at night time and at times while in the car.

She loves to dance.  As soon as Keane picks up his guitar, she's out on the dance floor (aka our living room or kitchen floor, whatever she's feeling at the time), and she instructs Mama? to join her, and we dance our hearts out, spinning in little choppy circles, and holding hands and I'll swing her about.  It's pure joy, and I'm usually ready to stop dancing before she ever is.

She is started to know some of the songs I sing, such as this lullaby my mom always sang.  She interjects the words she knows a little late, and I love it:

PINK = Farrah
Close your eyes, and EYES go to sleep,
Close your eyes, and EEYYYYES go to sleep.
Mama loves you, MAMA, Daddy DADDY too TOOOOO.

She is always ready to holp (help) and when we mention going somewhere, she will run to grab her coat, hat, or boochs (boots).  She loves to put her boots on her by herself now.  She may have to ask for help, but prefers to do it herself.  She'll set them in front of her and slowly, holding onto a table or object nearby, slip her feet into her boots.  She has been putting her coat on, at least one arm, by herself now too.  The other day we wanted to ride with Keane in his truck so I was hurriedly getting our things together and I just sat her boots down and the next thing I knew she had them on - I was thoroughly impressed!

Her and I went for a ride in Daddy's truck to check the water at the other farm the other day, and she wanted to holp him, so the two of them went to the water tank while I watched from the front seat, and it was the cutest sight.  She was bundled up and so intrigued in what he was doing.  She's so tiny, yet she thinks she is so big.  I saw her looking way up to her daddy and they were talking, and this is such a new stage and I am in love with it, the way we can talk with her, and she takes it all in.  Everything.

She knows a few colors, specifically pink, blue, and orange.  She was choosing to sit (and slide across the floor and reposition and move again) in a pink chair rather than all of the blue chairs in the waiting room at her 18-month well check appointment at her new doctor's office the other day, and a lady overheard her saying pint (pink).  The lady asked how old she was and was surprised that Farrah knew her colors already.

She also says poot for pooped, and it's kind of cute, and it's also nice when she lets me know right away and runs to her room for a diaper change.  She walks backwards sometimes and also on her tippy toes.  She is always helping to wipe with a white (wipe).  She really picked up saying tank you when you hand her things.

She has 16 teeth now!  She weighed 22 lbs, 13.5 oz (48th percentile) and was 32.5" (63rd percentile), with a head circumference of 46 cm (38th percentile) at her 18-month check up.  She didn't have to get any shots (already had gotten her flu shot), but did have to get tested for lead by having her blood drawn and that was terrible, especially the preparation for it.  She sat on my lap and I held her arm, and the lady said we both did very good.  She got a bright pink band aid and we got DQ ice cream afterwards!  She's in size 5 diapers and wears 18 month or 2T clothes!  She goes to bed around 9:00 p.m., sleeps through the night, and sleeps until 7:30-8:30am.  She usually requests to eat as soon as she wakes up, and she asks about Daduh, Keedin, and Kylyle, and then the kitty.  She gets her chair and moves it to the coffee table to eat, and usually asks to watch *growl* (Daniel Tiger).  When she is wondering where someone or something is, puts her hands up and twists them inward as far as they'll twist.  She usually takes one nap a day around noon or so, depending on our day, and sleeps for 2-3 hours (hopefully).  Other than the times she is sleeping, she is full of energy, going from playing with one thing to another, always ready to be chased or tickled or paid attention to.  She has the best deep giggle.

(wiping off the seat so Mama could sit next to her!)
